9 Things the Most Influential and Persuasive People Say and Do

    28 March, 2017 By

It may be said that this is a man’s world, but women are showing that it doesn’t only belong to the guys. As a woman in the business world, you may discover that while things are changing, you still have to prove that you have it all under the control and be persuasive while doing it.

Don’t worry, it isn’t impossible and you can prove you are up for the challenge.

    You Are a Successful Entrepreneur

To help you get an idea of how you can be a highly influential and persuasive woman in the business world, following are 9 things that can help you to get started on the path of successful entrepreneurship:

#1 Confidence. It can be highly difficult to persuade someone to acquire your services, products, or invest in what you have to offer, if you don’t believe in what you have or are doing. Confidence is one of the most important factors in becoming a persuasive person who succeeds in getting people to do what you want them to. Believe in who you are, believe in what you are offering, and most importantly, believe that you deserve the success that you are after.

#2 Be bold.Along the same line as confidence, don’t shy away from opportunities. One of the reasons why successful entrepreneurs are successful is that they took the opportunities that came their way. There is a saying that says something like, “Say yes, even if you don’t know what you are doing and then learn how to do it.” Be bold in getting what you want and in your leadership. It’s hard to ignore someone who is not afraid to speak their mind and go after what they want.

#3 Watch your vocabulary. It may be difficult for people to want what you have to offer if you are using vocabulary that is degrading or negative. You may be doing it in ways that you don’t even realize. To help you change the way that you speak or sale yourself, try making a power words list and including these persuasive words in your speeches and meetings.

#4 Learn sales talk. This is a big factor in your overall success as a power woman. It’s one reason why sales lectures often focus so much on what to say and vocabulary, and many of them offer their attendees a power words list to help them get started. Becoming persuasive and influential is about selling yourself and what you have to offer, so it may help you to learn some persuasive words and lingo.

#5 Educate yourself. To have confidence and know how to approach situations and opportunities that come up, take time to strengthen your knowledge, learn more about tricks of the trade, and attend any lectures on persuasion and female entrepreneurship that catch your eye. At the Creative Women Conference we have a series of inspiring lectures and hands-on workshops that touch on the most important aspects business women face in their career or starting their own venture.

#6 Get to know your audience. In the same vein, make sure that you understand and connect with your target demographic. For example, before trying to provide a product for any industry, learn more about your customers and their concerns and what they really want when it comes to addressing their problems.

#7 Be sincere.A big part of persuasion is sincerity. If you can help people believe that you know what you are talking about, that you belong in leadership, and that you truly care about what you are trying to achieve, people will sit up and take notice.

#8 Be honest. On the flip side, potential customers and clients typically don’t respond well to someone who is obviously only trying to make a sale. Live your truth and you will make more connections and be better at influencing people. Don’t try to be manipulative just to get a new client. Some of your best clients and customers will come from recommendations.

#9 Value your connections. It will be difficult to influence people, if people don’t like you. A good way to lose customers and clients is by ignoring your PR and customer service. Make sure that your clients know that you appreciate them. This is key in achieving success as an entrepreneur and in the business world.

    You Can Do This

As a woman, you may find bumps along your path of entrepreneurship. Not everyone that you try to do business with has accepted equality as you have. This doesn’t mean that you have to try harder or be tougher to show them you have what it takes.

It may help if you attend lectures workshop where you can find like-minded women who are also on their way towards leadership, where you can learn how to start using persuasive words in your everyday conversations, and get tips on how to make it in a world full of wolves. Don’t be scared, you have every right to be running the pack and all you have to do is learn how to prove it.
